On November 9, Julia Bullock performed at The Basilica of Saint Josaphat alongside Maestro Lee Mills and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Julia sang Benjamin Britten’s 10-movement song cycle Les Illuminations for soprano and strings. Elaine Schmidt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel described Bullock’s performance, “a warm ringing sound and communicative delivery [that] reached the audience with remarkable clarity.” She went on to remark that “Bullock delivered exquisitely turned phrases and a sound that was focused, even, and colorful throughout her range.” Julia’s praised interpretation of this piece can be heard next with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra on February 7 and 8, 2020.
